About the Designer - Gail Ritchey
Welcome to Cottage Fever. I began my designing career by getting a contract with Lilliput Lane to do cross stitch adaptations of their wonderful cottages. There are 7 leaflets in the series that includes patterns for 14 cottages. Next came the PenDelfin leaflet. I also have an adaptation of Sherry Masters wonderful watermill painting and three other patterns.
A friend of mine, Nancy Hoerner, designed the wonderful needlework jewelry that I have packaged and sell.
I am a member of the Society of Craft Designers and the Polymer Clay Guild. I discovered polymer clay at a Society of Craft Designers Seminar and fell in love with the wonderful medium. What can be done in months doing cross stitch can be done in hours or just days in polymer clay.
I am the grand prize winner, professional division, of the FIMO's Jetting to Germany contest. My husband and I and another couple spend a fantastic week in Germany, getting to know the wonderful people at Eberhard Faber and seeing some of the beautiful country of Germany.
I have an 128 page book published, 'Making Miniature Villages in Polymer Clay' and many designs that appear in some of the major craft magazines. I teach classes on polymer clay and have taped two shows for the Carol Duvall Show.
Some of the designs I have published in craft magazines are shown below.
